It’s been a busy year for us here at Mathiou Services and as the year is coming to a close we look back at all we have achieved in 2017.
This year we have worked with multiple childcare centres and facilities to help provide a new and improved environment for the children and staff to enjoy. Here are just a few of our highlights of the year:
Affinity Education Group National Refresh Program
This was a big project that we worked on closely with the Affinity Education Group to focus on refreshing each centre. We were able to revamp and refresh over 160 ‘Lifelong Learning Centres’ that involved:
- New Astro Turfs (or replacement)
- Bark pit installations
- Pressure washing
- Soft fall installations (or replacement)
- Shade sail installations (or replacement)
- Gate and fencing replacements
Early Education Marsden Park Playground Development
We delivered a world-class playground facility for the Great Beginning Early Education team that focused on providing an exciting play area that included more open space. The playground development included;
- Hardwood decking and seating
- 90m concrete bike track for the use of bike and scooter riding
- Native flora and garden bed installments
- Interactive sandstone block pave water feature
- Two Kwilia hardwood cubby houses, fitted out with benches and seats
Papilio Early learning North Strathfield Centre
It was out with the old and in with the new with Papilo’s new playground, merging both the outside and the inside play area together. The focus was to create a special environment for the children that would be both engaging and fun for all ages, while they continue to grow and learn. The refresh included:
- Outdoor area revamp
- A new cypress & merbeau wooden fort
- Hardwood teepee with sailors rope
- Planter boxes with veggies and plants chosen by the children
- Raised decking
- 40mm of new Astro turf, including a multipurpose astro turf
- Inside of the centre revamp
- Fresh paint and vinyl throughout the centre
- New cabinetry fitted
- Featured art walls including chalkboards, mirrors, peg boards & artboards
Early Learning Tugun centre gets a new look
This project saw the Tugun centre get its much deserved transformation for both senior and junior playgrounds to bring enjoyment to all the children who use it. The playground was a major hit with the children and with the parents, as the centre saw an 8% increase in enrolments. The upgrade included:
- Senior and Junior Yards
- New bark and sandpit top ups
- Updated water features and plumbing
- Removed worn astro turf and replaced it
- Installed new concrete slab and decking
- Shower screens and tiles replaced
- Supply and install nappy change station
- Move existing sink and mixer tap
- Supply and install new toilet facilities
We enjoyed bringing smiles and enjoyment to the little ones, and hope that this new transformation continues to allow the children to flourish and grow.
